What do you believe in?
People thought that man couldn't fly. That women could never win the vote. That no one could walk on the moon. But when someone believes, the impossible becomes possible. We believe that zero children should die of preventable causes.
Informational meeting on Thursday, September 18th.
This will be our first meeting and is completely for introduction. We'll meet in the Library right after school where we will talk more about what UNICEF is and how they work. Food will be provided.
Please make an effort to attend or check out our website www.strongunicef.weebly.com to learn more.
Is it worth fighting for?
Education
Education ends generational cycles of poverty and disease and provides a foundation for sustainable development. A quality basic education equips girls and boys with the knowledge and skills they need to adopt healthy lifestyles and protect themselves.
Health
Most deaths result from five causes, or a combination of them: pneumonia, preterm birth complications, interdepartmental complications (complications during birth), diarrhea and malaria. Poverty and the failure to ensure universal access to basic social services are to blame.
Violence
All children have the right to be protected from violence, exploitation and abuse. Yet, millions of children worldwide from all socio-economic backgrounds, across all ages, religions and cultures suffer from it everyday. Millions more are at risk.
