Davis Bilingual Magnet
September Newsletter
Dear Families,
It's hard to believe we have already been in school for over a month! Our students have come ready to learn and we have settled into the daily academic routines. In addition to our strong academic focus, we are working as a school community to teach students the value of In Lak'ech. The purpose of In Lak'ech is to instill the importance of respect, responsibility, kindness, and unity on our campus. Ask your child to describe what In Lak'ech means to them.
Can you believe the fall season is just a few weeks away? I am certainly looking forward to cooler weather! With the fall season just around the corner, our "Noche de Aguilitas" carnival is quickly approaching. The fall carnival is scheduled for Friday, September 29th from 5:00pm - 8:30pm. The evening will include fun games, food trucks, and many local mariachi performances throughout the evening. Our final performance of the evening will be our very own Mariachi Aguilitas de Davis!
I would like to thank our incredible PTA for their hard work and countless hours spent preparing for the fall carnival. We are still in need of volunteers to help with clean-up on the night of the event. If you are able to help, please send me an email.
Fall Carnival donations are currently being accepted in the front office for the following items:
- Cans of soda
- Individual bottles of water
- Individual bags of chips
- Small cakes for the cake-walk game
Finally, thank you to everyone that was able to attend our Open House. It was great to see so many families on campus. A strong partnership between school and home is proven to lead to better student achievement and a more positive attitude toward school and learning. Your commitment is greatly appreciated. I wish you all a healthy and happy month ahead.
With gratitude,
Sra. Campillo

Free and Reduced Lunch
Davis Bilingual Magnet receives funding based on the number of qualifying lunch applications submitted. The money received is used to fund a full-time certified position. Regardless of whether or not you choose to eat school lunch, please submit an application. All qualifying applications directly impact the funding our school receives. Once an application is submitted, you are able add money to your child's lunch account. Please fill out the Free and Reduced Lunch Application HERE.
Tax Credit Donation
Now through April 15th, 2024, you can take advantage of the Arizona Public School Tax Credit to pay the income tax you owe directly to Davis Bilingual Magnet. In the state of Arizona, you get your tax credit contribution back subject to the limits of your tax liability.
What should I mark when I make my donation online?
We are especially grateful for donations marked “Undesignated,” as that allows us to put your donation towards a specialist position on our campus (P.E., Garden, Art, etc). Thank you for supporting us as we raise funds to keep these important positions.
What if I already made a payment for Extended Day?
Many of you made a payment for Extended Day. Kindly note that you may be able to take advantage of the federal Child and Dependent Care Credit, as Extended Day supports parents who pay for childcare so that they may work outside of the home. Please consult your tax professional for more details. This may allow you to make an additional contribution to Davis (in addition to Extended Day) and claim the Arizona tax credit, for up to $400, per the information above.
Please donate HERE.
