Weekly Spotlight
Mock Interviews - We need Volunteers!!
Though our students have not been able to go out and participate in their usual internships in our Young Professionals' Academy (YPA) this year, they have been involved in virtual ones. Students' experiences and conversations with industry professionals have helped them investigate and learn about a host of interesting careers.
However, a challenge we are having this semester is our mock interview experience.
This is where we need your help. We would like to invite you to participate in our virtual mock interviews.
The interviews would need to take place between Monday 11/30 and Friday 12/11. At a minimum, the students would have our class time available for interviews, either from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm and/or 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm. Each interview would take approximately 15 minutes with feedback being given to students immediately afterward. We will provide sample questions and a rubric to help guide the interview. Students should also provide a resume for feedback.
The interview could be done via GoogleMeet, Zoom, or even over the phone. We want to make this as convenient as possible for you.
Here is a Google Form if you are willing to help us. Please fill this out at your convenience. We would like to have all replies by Friday 11/20.
Tolles - An excellent opportunity for interested 10th, 11th, and 12th graders for next school year
What is Tolles?
Tolles is the career center associated with Dublin City Schools. It is located in Plain City, Ohio and offers a wealth of programs for students in 10th, 11th, and 12th grade.
Students can choose to take advantage of courses at Tolles through half-day or full day attendance, and can elect to add required academic classes to their Tolles programming. Academic and career-tech instructors align curriculum to ensure high-level preparation for real-world careers.
Tolles offers a modernized and personalized approach to the educational experience through hands-on experience and rich technology integration, as well as blended, online, and project-based learning.
Students taking advantage of the Tolles offerings have access to the best technology and equipment to gain a valuable career-technical skill set and to prepare effectively for the workforce. Tolles teachers and support staff go above-and-beyond to provide extra assistance to students. This includes the Learning Resource Center, which serves all students, all the time, and provides tutoring, testing prep and assistance, bilingual services, and more.
Nearly all of Tolles’ career-technical programs have articulation agreements in place for students to earn college credit for free while enrolled. Through these articulation agreements, students can seamlessly carry college credit for free onto college and universities partners in order to continue their education after high school. There are also opportunities to earn college credit through optional College Credit Plus courses.
Tolles also offers several valuable satellite programs at Emerald Campus.
Interested students should speak to their school counselors for further information, as well as visit the Tolles website: http://www.tollestech.com/

Pop Tab Collection
Also, as a reminder, we are collecting pop tabs to support the local Ronald McDonald House (located by the Nationwide Children’s Hospital on Livingston Ave). This project is also a component of the Service-Learning experience in The Bridge program at Emerald Campus.
The pop tab program benefits families staying at the Ronald McDonald House (RMH) while their children are in the hospital. RMH receives a check (from recycling the pop tabs) and the money is used to pay utility bills or support programs. Students can bring in tabs at any time. They will place them in the containers (placed by recycling bins and/or water fountains). Contact the Bridge students and staff or emeraldcampus@dublinschools.net with any questions.
