The Weekly Howl

Week of August 14th, 2017

What Was That!!!

The first day of school at Wolf Lake Elementary was a speeding blur! It's amazing how much information there is to share, how many procedures there are to be taught and practiced, and how many names and personalities there are to learn and remember during the first days of school.

A weekly staff newsletter is something that is very important to me. I like to include pictures of things that are happening in the building and information from classroom teachers. If you have anything to share with all of our staff please send the information to me any time during the week. I try my best to send out the newsletter no later than Sunday afternoon. In addition to housekeeping items and school happenings, I include two calendars at the bottom of each newsletter for staff meetings and other important dates. I am depending on you to check my calendar dates and to send me important dates as you have them to report.

Updates and Changes

Mrs. Aker and I Need Your Schedule

Jill and I need your class schedule ASAP. She needs to be able to schedule push-in and pull-out times. Please send both of us a copy of your schedule. Thanks!

School Committee Sign-Ups

I will be putting out sign-up sheets next week for committees. Please be thinking about what you would like to help organize/run. The committees are Character Counts, Pie Sales, Pie Sales Delivery, Chili Supper, School Improvement, and End of Year Celebration. If you think I'm missing something let me know and we'll talk about it.

Solar Eclipse Information

We will be viewing the solar eclipse as a school. Albion's PTO has bought and donated glasses for us to use to view the eclipse. Below is some information from the IDOE.

Student Safety: On August 21, much of the U.S. will experience a rare solar eclipse. While this is a rare opportunity, it can be very dangerous to stare directly at the sun during an eclipse, possibly resulting in vision damage. The eclipse will take place in the early afternoon in Indiana, and in some cases during bus departure. It has been suggested by our partners at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) that students be informed and well-supervised during this event.
