DVUSD Enrollment Terms and Procedures
Enrollment/Registration: All students who attend any DVUSD School must be enrolled through the DVUSD online enrollment system. Once students are enrolled, there is no need to re-enroll unless a family moves or a student transfers to a new school. Registration for the 2023-24 School Year will open November 1, 2022.
Open Enrollment: Families must apply for Open Enrollment only if the school their child is attending is outside of the school's designated attendance area. Open enrollment is based on the amount of space we have in a classroom or program along with the staffing assigned for the year. Once a parent receives an acceptance from the school (via email), the student must have the online enrollment/registration completed within ten days of acceptance.
Spanish Immersion (i.e. Special Program) Enrollment: This will open on Nov. 1, 2022 to all students who reside in our school boundaries. After Dec. 16, 2022, open enrollment students (students who do not live in our school boundaries) will be accepted in the program if there is space and in the order in which their Spanish Immersion application was received. There are required steps to apply for the Spanish Immersion program:
Step 1: Complete the online Spanish Immersion Enrollment Form.
Step 2: If you live outside of the school boundaries and want to enroll in the Spanish Program, you need to fill out an Open Enrollment Form prior to registering at Union Park School.
Step 3: Complete and submit all registration forms for Union Park School.

I would like to take this opportunity to remind our families about safety procedures and issues that have been brought to our attention during student drop-off and pick-up.
- Please do not drop students off on Andalusian just after turning right unless there is a place to park that does not block traffic.
- Please pull all the way forward before dropping your child off or picking him/her up. The last blue drop-off/pick-up sign is in front of the double doors of the gym.
- Please do not drop your children off on campus or at the crosswalk prior to 8:00am. Staff is not on duty prior to 8am.
- Our community appreciates it when you follow the speed limits, avoid parking in front of their driveways, or use them to turn around.
- Our Toro families appreciate your understanding when the sun shines just right on the windshield as you try to turn left and right onto the busy 19th Ave. each morning.
- Our crossing guard appreciates that you are watching out for their safety and the safety of our students as they stop traffic (and often help people turn left) and cross our students and parents safely across 21st Ave.
Lastly, please bring a dose of patience and kindness on the roads in the neighborhood of Union Park.

Standards Based Grading Information Highlight: Getting Started with Standards-Based Grading
Today we bring you an article from Edutopia, "Getting Started with Standards-Based Grading," that gives a great perspective on how the grading practice drills down to student skills. Our teachers and students are really looking forward to conferences where students will share their specific progress on each standard and their skill strengths with you!

Interested in attending Softball and Baseball Games this Season?
This year our district is introducing a Family pass for entry into any home and away baseball and softball games. Each pass is $25 per family and will be purchased online through the link below. Once the pass is purchased you will receive a physical pass and will be able to get into every home and away softball and baseball game. Each family only needs one pass and there is no maximum number per family. Thank you so much for your continued support of Union Park Athletics.
Please click here to purchase the Family Pass for the 2022-2023 Softball and Baseball Season.
All students attending our home games must be accompanied by an adult for the entirety of the game. Students who are dropped-off without supervision will be required to call parents for pick-up immediately.
Exception: Members of the student council who are at the games to sell concessions are directly supervised by our student council teacher sponsors.
