In 1957, 9 black African American students were trying to go to school. Their names were Carlota Walls LaNier , Jefferson Thomas, Terrance Roberts, Ernest green, Elizabeth Eckford, MinniJean Brown, Gloria Ray Kalmark, Thelma Mothershed, and Melba Patillo Beals.

The Little Rock Nine were trying to enter the school, but the governor of Arkansas tried to stop them from being able to attend the all white school. So he ordered the national guards to block the Little Rock Nine from entering the school. But previously the U.S supreme court ruled that segregation was unconstitutional.

How Was This Solved
This was solved by President Dwight D. Eisenhower. He ordered federal troops to escort the Little Rock nine in the school, and they started their first day of school on September 25,1957.
