Off to a Great Start!

It has been wonderful to see our students back in the classroom, learning and growing. We have had an amazing start to the 23-24 school year.

I have been particularly impressed by the positive attitude and enthusiasm of our students. They have been eager to learn and participate in all of our activities. I am also grateful for the support of our parents and guardians. It was wonderful seeing familiar faces and meeting new families at our Open House!Your involvement in your child's education is essential to their success.

I am proud of the work that our students and staff have done so far this year. I am confident that we will have a successful and productive school year.

Picture Day- Tuesday September 5

Lifetouch will be taking student pictures on Tuesday, September 5th. All students should get their pictures taken. For grades 9-11, this will be their yearbook photo. For all students, their photos will be used for the 23-24 ID badges. If students have paid their base activity fee, this will allow them free entrance to home sporting events, as well as the fall play and musical. Use the information below to order online if you wish to purchase photos.

US News Best High Schools

LAHS was excited to learn last week that we earned a spot of #42 out of 750 public high schools in Pennsylvania on US News Best High Schools 2023 Rankings! Our national ranking was #1,239 out of 17,680 schools. The areas measured include college readiness, breadth of curriculum, state assessment proficiency, state assessment performance and graduation rate.

PSAT/NMSQT

The PSAT/NMSQT given to juniors will be held on October 24. This assessment is now digital, and the fee is $18 this year. Juniors can register in the Guidance Office. The deadline to register is Monday, September 25. Scores from the PSAT/NMSQT can qualify a student for the National Merit Scholarship Program

Caps and Gowns

Jostens will be at LAHS to provide seniors with information regarding caps and gowns on Thursday during Advisory. Directions for ordering will be provided to students. SUN and Early College students may pick up their packets in the office anytime after Thursday afternoon.

Canvas Parent Portal

Did you know that you can be an observer on your children's Canvas pages? You can see what the class is currently learning and view homework and due dates. See below for the sign-up directions.

The process will require your child’s login information, so it will be

easiest to set this up with them.
