Science Fair-Inspiring Future Scientists!

Washington HS students in the Science Club hosted a Science Fair for Washington students in fourth grade. The challenge was for each student to design an experiment to explain a concept relating to Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle.

Project Safe Prom

Project Safe Prom is a powerful, impactful program that reminds students of the dangers of driving while intoxicated. Local police, fire, EMT, and a rescue helicopter participated in a mock accident scenario at Hatchet Hollow. The program demonstrates the horrific consequences of driving impaired.

Hobby Day at Lena Dunn!

Kids at Hope's vision is that every child is afforded the belief, guidance, and encouragement that creates a sense of hope and optimism needed to achieve success at life's Destinations. This nine-weeks focus is Hobbies and Recreation. Lena Dunn held a Hobby Day, where students could explore different hobbies and pastimes, such as crafting, crochet, playing games, making greeting cards, friendship bracelets, and healthy lifestyles.

Children's Book Author John David Anderson Visits Washington Schools

Inspiring Young Authors!

John David Anderson visited students in grades 4th-7th, who read his book, Mrs. Bixby's Last Day prior to his visit. He is the author of several other books for kids: Sidekicked, Posted, Granted, Insert Coin to Continue, The Dungeoneers, Minion, and Standard Hero Behavior.

Mr. Anderson is a very funny and engaging speaker, and students loved him! He spoke of how he gets inspiration for his novels and his writing process. Thank you to Mrs. Harman and all the school librarians for bringing Mr. Anderson to Washington.
