Dear Van Buren Families and Friends,

School Picture Make Up/Re-Take Day is this Thursday, December 8th. If your child missed picture day, then they will have their school photo taken. If you would like your child's picture to be retaken, then you must return the photo packet that you received previously to school with your child on Thursday.

We are pleased to announce a new addition to our school support team. Ashley Massaro has joined the Van Buren family as our new School Counselor. In addition to teaching the K-5 Career Curriculum focusing on exposure and exploration, Mrs. Massaro will also support social and emotional learning.

Our band, orchestra and chorus students are hard at work preparing for the upcoming Holiday Concert at Baker High School Auditorium on Monday, December 12th at 6:30 pm. Please share this Livestream Link with friends and family who aren't able to attend in person.

Thanks to all of our families who supported the Student Council winter coat drive in November. They collected more than 50 coats for the Rescue Mission. Nice job Student Council! Their December service project is a food drive taking place through December 13th. Families who would like to contribute may send in non-perishable food items with their student or you may drop off items in our main vestibule. All items will be delivered to the Baldwinsville Christmas Bureau.

Our holiday gift drive is also underway. If you would like to donate a gift, here is the link to sign up: Van Buren Holiday Gift Drive . All items will benefit a Van Buren family at the holidays. Unwrapped items, labeled with the family number, can be dropped off at the school between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 3:45 p.m.

Winter weather will arrive eventually. Students will have wellness breaks outdoors, so please send your child to school with the appropriate for playing outdoors.

The Van Buren PTA is a volunteer organization that supports students and staff through a wide range of fun activities (book fairs, seasonal events, classroom materials, etc.). PTA is a great way to be involved in your child's school and anyone can join!
