Good Digital Citizenship
Do you Have it?
You have an online footprint, be careful where you step.
In the world we live in today almost everyone owns a device where you can get on the internet. The web is helpful and can do many good things. But there are also places in the internet that have things children don't need to see. That is why the Bedford Junior High has safety filters to keep the inappropriate images, and works, out. The filter we use is like a net, all those bad things are fish that are caught and can't escape, but every once in a while one bad thing slips through, maybe on purpose, or the kid looked up key words that caught the attention of that little bad fish. Make sure when you look up something, look to see if any key words will trigger bad pictures or words. When creating passwords use things no one would know about you, or do you favorite set of numbers.
Your digital footprint matters
Everything you do is permanent.
Don't break it, protect it.
Don't let the Chromebook break, keep it safe.
These are expensive tools the school has given for you. People have to pay for these. I know almost half the school that has a Chromebook doesn't think twice about the cost it will take it you break it. How would you like it if the policy was "You break it you buy it." I bet you would be a little more cautious then.
This Message is from the Bedford Junior High Student Tech Team.
We have made this presentation to tell you that your Chromebook is not a toy. Keep it safe, and don't look up stuff that you know is inappropriate, or mean.
