Lindsay's Lowdown!

Welcome to the 2021-22 School Year at Schuler School!

What a wonderful first week it has been. Parents - I have to share a secret with you but don't tell your kids - our students are top notch. Some things I have noticed include the impeccable manners, good work ethic, and they take pride in their school! We had our first school-wide assembly earlier this week and spoke about the Golden Rule. Conversations have continued throughout the week as we all focus on treating each other as we wish to be treated.

On another note, the new additions to the playground have been an absolute hit! Thank you to our School Council and the Playground Committee for all their work on this. The smiles on the kids' faces and the dirt on their pants says it all.

Finally, as we continue to provide excellent education opportunities for your children and build a school community to take pride in, please reach out if you have any concerns or questions. You can reach me at 403-866-7228 or lisalindsay@prrd8.ca.

FACES OF OUR SCHOOL

Each month, a member of our staff will be highlighted. This is your chance to get to know a few things about them!

Ms. Lindsay:

DREAM VACATION: I'll go anywhere with a beach - but I would love to go to Bali!

WHO INSPIRES ME: My own children. Watching them handle the past 18 months (and counting) has shown me how resilient they are.

FAVORITE RESTAURANT: I love italian restaurants (free bread and pasta). I love going to Rustic in Medicine Hat.

ON WEEKENDS I LIKE TO: Be outside as much as possible with my family and my dog.

HIDDEN TALENT: I can play Jingle Bells on the recorder.

FAVORITE MOVIE: Gorillas in the Mist (it's an oldie but a goodie). I have always dreamed of travelling to see the Mountain Gorillas in their natural habitat!

BOOK RECOMMENDATION: A Thousand Splendid Suns

GO-TO SNACK OR DESSERT: Ripple Chips with a side of cheese! Ripple Chip Sandwiches!

PERSON I'D LIKE TO MEET: Michelle Obama

I CHEER FOR: Edmonton Oilers and the Schuler Storm
