Mrs. Walters' News

Good Afternoon and Welcome Back!

I want to extend a warm welcome to all of our returning and new Bushnell families! I am so excited to begin a new school year, even as we work through so many atypical situations.

Firstly, please know that every staff member of Lowell Area Schools involved in preparing for this school year has been working around the clock to ensure a successful and safe start. We have much to decide, organize, plan and communicate. I know that families are anxious for information and want to get themselves and their children ready. I plan to send out a comprehensive document outlining specific plans for Bushnell next week. This will include start and stop times, pick and drop off procedures, visitor policies, safety plans, and mitigation measures. If you have any unique questions about your child or situation, do not hesitate to reach out- we are here to help and want everyone to feel confident!

In recent weeks, we asked families to choose between a first trimester virtual learning experience or a face-to-face learning option with a hybrid start for the first three weeks of school. For those of you that chose to do a virtual model, we will be sharing more information with you about what to expect and how to pick up the technology needed. Hybrid/face-to-face students will not have technology distributed and on 'off' days will have at home learning that will include traditional materials as well.

We are in need of lunchtime para educators! If you are interested in more information, please contact our office as soon as possible!

Teacher placement is a bit tricky this year. We plan on sharing your child's teacher with you no later than Friday, August 21 through email.

For 'Face to Face' Students: We will be inviting kindergarten and ECSE students to sign

up for a meet the teacher appointment on Tuesday August 25th. First grade students

will meet their teacher virtually or over the phone on August 25th. We will mot have a

back to school night this year. I will provide details regarding Wednesday and Thursday

start of day with all of you next week.

In order to prepare, we do have class lists posted on our website for each grade level which are up to date and ready!

As always, please reach out with any questions or concerns you have! We look forward to partnering with you this year as your children grow and learn with us!
