Good Afternoon Arcola Families!
Good Afternoon Arcola Families!
When we post the newsletter each week through Smore, we are able to see how many views it gets each week. Unfortunately, this number of views is getting lower and lower by the week. We use this newsletter to promote all Arcola announcements, events, and updates. Our first newsletter of the year had nearly 1000 views. The newsletter last week had just over 500 views. Please make sure to read this news source to keep up with all things Arcola.
For the few cars each morning that must turn left between 7:30-8:00 & 2:30-3:00, please STOP! This is a traffic hazard and goes against our direction and the signage posted on the left and right of the exit of our school. THANK YOU to all parents who continue to follow our right turn only signage each morning and afternoon! We appreciate you!
We are very excited about our first Winter Wonderland Craft Fair next Saturday here at Arcola. Please join us for a fun day of shopping and visiting with friends in our community.
With the introduction of winter weather this week, this is a good time to remind families to be sure that you have your emergency dismissal plans completed in your ParentVue account. This information will be used in the case that LCPS closes early. We will need to know your plans for your child should school close early, will you pick up your child, have your child go home with a friend, take their bus home, or go to daycare.? Please, do not wait until this situation arises to make your plan. Early closings are very hectic and are not the time to resolve where your child will go after school. Look for the link to ParentVue below.

REFLECTIONS AWARDS CEREMONY
The Arcola PTA would like to thank all the students who participated in the Reflections contest as well as the teachers & staff members who supported the program! We received entries in multiple categories across all grade levels. In honor of the hard work the participants put into their artwork, we are hosting an Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, November 20th at 6:00 pm in the Arcola library. We invite all students to attend, especially the students who entered the Reflections contest. Winners who are advancing to the Hunt District level will be announced. Bring your parents, family and friends to honor & support our Dragon artists!

ATV REPAIR NEEDED
We have an ATV with a snow plow blade that is currently not working properly. We are in need of a mobile mechanic who would be willing to come to Arcola to see if they can help us get it up and running before any winter weather events. If you are interested or know of anyone, please e-mail Mr. Stevens.
BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION
Raising funds for our school just got easier! No more clipping. No more sending Box Tops to school. All you need is your phone. Download the ALL-NEW Box Tops app, shop as you normally would, then simply scan your store receipts to find participating products. The app will automatically credit our school's Box Tops earnings online. Please download the app today! Though clipped Box Tops are being phased out, any that are found on older packaging are still acceptable if not expired, so please continue to turn them in at the main office as well.
DRAGON DADS ARE BACK!
A big thank you to Mr. Anthony Burgess and Mr. Shahrukh Mohd for coming in this week to be our Dragon Dads!
