Financial Aid Night -- We were grateful to have Ms. Bonnie Behm from Villanova University present at our District Financial Aid Night, held on 10/2/19. If you were unable to attend, you may view/download her presentation, which is posted on the Financial Aid Page of the Guidance Website.
FAFSA Workshop -- All Seniors and Parents are welcome to attend a FAFSA WORKSHOP to be held on Thursday, October 17, 2019 at 5:30 PM in the CB East Auditorium (2804 Holicong Road, Doylestown, PA 18902). The presenter will be Ms. Fran McKeown from PHEAA (Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency). Ms. McKeown will guide families through the process of filling out the FAFSA (the Free Application for Federal Student Aid), and will answer procedural questions.
College Visits -- Each day, admission representatives from up to four colleges visit CBW. The representatives who give these presentations are typically the ones responsible for reviewing students’ applications, so this in an invaluable opportunity for students to make a personal connection with that person. Students should sign up through Naviance (College Tab →Research Colleges →College Visits and click on the “Register Now” button). You will receive a confirmation email to your CB email account. Students should either print this email as their pass to attend the visit, or they may obtain a pass from the Guidance Office.
Peer Tutoring – The Peer Tutoring Academy for the 2019-20 school year is now underway. Tutoring takes place Tuesdays after school for one hour. Students who are requesting tutoring must sign up in Guidance (on the bulletin board) by the preceding Monday. If students do not sign up beforehand, there may not be a tutor available to help. If you have questions or concerns, please contact Mrs. Lori Bagnick at lbagnick@cbsd.org

Orchestra Trip and Ooka Fundraiser
In July of 2020, members of the CB West, East, & South High School Orchestras will embark on a Study Abroad trip to the Stirling Bridge International Arts Festival. We are thrilled to announce our partnership with Ooka Doylestown. They have designed a Scottish-inspired sushi roll for us, called the Symphony Roll. It will be on their menu for the month of October, and they are generously donating 100% of its profits to us! This money will be used to lower the cost of those going on the Scotland Trip.
Ski & Boarder Club
Rumor has it that the Farmer’s Almanac predicts a “frosty, wet and white” 2020 winter. To most that sounds terrible, but to CB West Ski and Boarder Club members it is AWESOME NEWS! This year’s club is in the preliminary organizational stages and our members can’t wait to hit the slopes. As in years past, we will be taking five trips to Camelback Mountain and Resort. Membership also includes a night season pass, transportation provided by Hagey coaches, a club hoodie sweatshirt and an end of the year pizza party. A variety of economical packages exist allowing members to select options that best fit their equipment and lesson needs. AND GREAT NEWS! Due to extreme interest in our club, we have added a third bus to accommodate up to 160 members this season, making sure no skiers or boarders are left behind!
This season’s introductory meeting is on Wednesday, October 23rd at 7:00pm and will be held in the CB West cafeteria. This is a District mandated meeting to be attended by BOTH club members and their parents to learn about procedures, trip details and safety precautions. To learn about the application process, please visit our website at https://sites.google.com/site/cbwestskiclub. You can also find other information pertaining to trip dates, prices and also find the link to our efficient online application here as well. Contact Megan Hanson at mhanson@cbsd.org with any questions. We look forward to you becoming a member of this exciting outdoor club.
