Summer 2016 Online
Welcome to Creative Writing!
I am looking forward to working with you all over the next seven weeks. Some of you may already know me from other classes. For those of you who don’t know me, let me share a little about myself. I love to write. I love essays, poetry, fiction, and memoir. I’m not picky: as long as it’s putting words on a page to create meaning, I love it. I have been writing and publishing in these genres for the last six years. I also love teaching, so teaching creative writing is a real joy for me.
This will be an exciting and challenging course that will take your creative writing skills to the next level (if you’re already a writer), or give you the skills and confidence to venture into the world of creative writing for the first time. You will get a chance to explore poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction in this class before choosing the genre/genres that interest you the most for your final project.
While we may not see each other in person, we will still be getting to know each other as we create a community of writers. To be prepared for our class, please work through the Jessup Online Student Orientation. Next, go to the Introductions Forum and share a little about yourself. Finally, please download and read our course syllabus. Then you'll be all ready to begin on Day 1.
Let’s start writing!
