Principal's News
Student learning is the core of all schools and undoubtedly the focus for every teacher, parent and student. At Trinity we are focussed on continual improvement to ensure our students are engaged in the most positive learning experiences possible. Research indicates that there are many factors that influence student achievement and as you would expect these will vary from child to child. John Hattie, a world renowned education researcher and lead voice in the Australian educational reform has studied significant factors over more than 10 years. His research indicates 252 influences and in some cases the results can be surprising. Collective teacher efficacy is ranked as the most significant impact on student learning with student effort and a variety of specific teaching strategies such as scaffolding being in the top 20 influences. The more publicised areas of class sizes, finances and fancy facilities rank in the lower 25%.
The research tells us that while there are clearly many factors that educators need to consider to drive student improvement that the classroom environment our staff create and the connections our students feel within their school community are paramount to student success.
Have a great week,
