Plants of the

Grasslands

There about 7500 species of grass.

Grasses can survive the difficult climate of a grassland
They store food in their roots to stay alive in the dry seasons.

Grasses have thin leaves so they do not lose water.

There are also trees, for example the Acacia. Giraffes eat the leaves of the Acacia.
Boobab trees store hundreds of liters of water in the trunks.
Forbs also grow in the grasslands.
