Lansing Elementary Weekly Update
Newsletter for the Lansing Elementary School Family
April 9, 2020
As we complete our second full week of the continuous learning plan, it feels like staff, students, and parents are feeling more comfortable navigating their learning boards and resources that teachers have provided. This has been a tremendous team effort of collaboration, cooperation, and innovation.
I have enjoyed visiting with parents on our Zoom meetings this week. We appreciate the accolades for our grade-level teams and support staff and also have taken your suggestions to heart. We know that this will be a dynamic process that will evolve to meet the ever-changing needs of our students and their families.
One of the concepts we discussed on the Zoom Parent calls was that we understand our world is facing a crisis of unprecedented extremes. Our school staff is here to support your family and work with you as you navigate your child’s continuous learning plan, jobs, and running a home. If your family needs extra support, a break, or help navigating the continuous learning plan, we are here to help. Please communicate with our staff so we know how to help.
Here’s a message from Elmo's Dad to all parents! We are all in this together! To families that celebrate Easter-Happy Easter! To those that don’t Happy Spring! I hope you can enjoy a stress free week-end of making memories with your loved ones. Please remember teachers have scheduled off time 4-10-2020-4-13-2020. We’ll see you again on 4-14-2020!

Parent Input for Class Placement for the 2020-2021 school year
All forms due by April 17, 2020-No forms will be accepted after this date
I have extended the deadline one week to include students that are current third graders and will be 4th graders for the 2020-2021 school-year. We will be collaborating with LIS for class placements. This form is also available for all in-coming Kindergarten students.
Please access the Google Form below to provide input for your child's class placement for the 2020-2021 school year. We ask that your refrain from naming or picking a specific teacher for your child, but instead offer qualities of the teacher that will best be suited to your child's personality and learning style. Requests for specific teachers, by name, cannot be accepted.
A tremendous amount of time and effort will go into the planning and formation of class placement by teams of both classroom teachers and support personnel. Your input will be considered along with the input of staff members. We will do our best to consider the unique needs, personality traits and learning style of every student. Thank you for taking the time to provide input for your child's class placement for the 2020-2021 school year!
Please fill out one form for EACH child in our household that will attend Lansing Elementary or will be a 4th Graders at LIS for the 2020-2021 school-year.
