Important Update
From CSD Superintendent Dr. Carrie Andrews, Nov. 16, 2020
Dear Cambrian Families and Staff,
Governor Newsom has designated Santa Clara County in the Purple (most restrictive) Tier due to an increase in COVID-19 cases. This change will take place at 12:01 a.m. tomorrow, November 17, 2020. In an effort to share the most up-to-date information I have included the public health order from the Santa Clara County Department of Health.
Cambrian School District has diligently followed the Public Health Department’s guidelines since March and will continue to do so moving forward. As you are aware, to date our schools have had small cohorts of students on campus prior to the county shift to the Purple Tier. These students have been on campus for various purposes from supervision groups to support students during distance learning, targeted one: one specialized assessment, and small cohorts of students for supervision (child care). These specific on-campus student cohorts will remain open at this point, per the Public Health Department guidelines. Our schools have demonstrated an ability to follow the Public Health requirements, rules, maintain distancing, and operate successfully.
As we move forward, I understand there will be many questions as to the next steps for the return to in-person instruction for our targeted special education classes set to return in November/December and grade levels set to return in January. Given the current information, I will be in contact with the local Public Health Department and will provide you with updates throughout the week as we move forward in Cambrian School District.
Thank you for your patience and support as we proceed with caution, putting student and staff safety as our highest priority. We are CAMBRIAN.
