Mrs. Norann Lewis - Kindergarten Assistant
Mrs. Norann Lewis - Kindergarten Assistant
Mrs. Lewis moved to the United States from Ireland with her husband, Simon, over 28 years ago. Since then, Mrs. Lewis lived in Williamsburg VA for 2 years before moving to Hilton Head in 1996. In 2000 she become a US citizen! After being a stay-at-home mom for many years, Mrs. Lewis decided that working with children was her calling. Before coming to St. Francis, Mrs. Lewis taught Preschool at a local school on Hilton Head.
Mrs. Lewis has daughters; one in high school and one in college.
In her spare time, Mrs. Lewis enjoys reading, baking, walking and spending time with her family. Her motto has always been "Never stop learning, no matter your age". We are grateful for the Lord's provision of Mrs. Lewis to our Kindergarten class and campus!
3rd Grade - K9 Safety Presentation
Mrs. Wolfkiel's third grade class experienced a wonderful presentation from the Beaufort County Sheriff's Department K9 unit. Corporal Toomey spoke to the students about protecting and keeping everyone safe with the help of Nico. Corporal Toomey explained about Nico's training and how they work as partners. Thank you, Corporal Toomey, Nico, and Master Sargeant Washington, for keeping our county and community safe and coming to the SFCS campus!
5th Grade - Blessing of the Chalk
Mrs. Brewster's fifth grade class prepared bags of chalk for all of the SFCS students in celebration of the Feast of Epiphany. Father Christopher blessed the bags of chalk which also contained a prayer. The chalk is used to write above the door, the initials of the Three Kings, Caspar, Melchior, and Balthazar and the year (20-C-M-B-23). This practice is a way to bless our homes and encourages Christians to dedicate their life at home to God and others. Seeing the symbols over our doors can help to remind us, while passing in and out on our daily routines, that our homes and all those who dwell there belong to Christ. It also serves as a reminder of the welcoming the Magi gave to Jesus. We should strive to be as welcoming to all who come to our homes to visit us!
Career Friday - Mrs. Jolley - Attorney - Jolley Law Group
The 5th grade class welcomed Mrs. Jolley to the 5th grade Career Friday. Mrs. Jolley, of the Jolley Law Group, inspired the students to reach their goals by starting a new business.
The students learned to write down their ideas, make a plan, ask for help, and be open to being wrong. Thank you, Mrs. Jolley for this valuable lesson.
