Adopt-a-Book continues THIS Week!

Adopt-a-Book is a Grant school program to replenish books within the library -as well as to add new and current titles. 100% of thedonations go to library books! For every book or donation made by your child, they will be invited to sign a special Adopt-a-Book nameplate in the front of their donated book for presentation to the library!

If you would like to participate, fill out the donation form found in your child's Friday folder or use the one attached to this email. Return it with either a check, your amazon order information or a new hardcopy book. Turn in the completed form to your child's teacher or to the library. After all books arrive, your child will be personally invited to the library to sign their special Adopt-A-Book bookplate.

To participate you can either:
1) The easiest way: Purchase a book from Mrs. Crysdale's wish list on Amazon (Look for Grant School Library Petaluma under Wish List on Amazon) If book is shipped to school use the address: Grant School Library, 200 Grant Avenue, 94952)
2) Attach a check to the participation form that will cover the cost of a new book
3) Purchase a hardcopy of one of your personal favorites

With your monetary donation, the librarian, Mrs. Crysdale, will purchase a book to add to the Grant School library collection on your behalf.
If you and your child would like to donate a new copy of one of your favorite books (rather than make a cash donation), please check with Mrs. Crysdale to be sure there will not be any duplicate titles. All donated books should be hardcopies for durability.

Mrs Crysdale thanks you all in advance! Any questions please feel free to contact her at

Thank you for an amazing Movie night PTA volunteers!

California Young Reader Award

This year Mrs. Crysdale has read the 4 books nominated for the California Young Reader Award to all Grant students. Then, the students voted for their favorite book. It was very close, but Grant students chose "The Day the Crayons Quit" as their favorite. A close second was "Paul meets Bernadette." Our votes will be send in and help choose the state-wide winner.
