Thankfulness Abounds!
I hope that each of you had a terrific time during our holiday and non-student days November 11-12--and you're looking foward to more Rest & Rejuvenation during Thanksgiving break November 22-26. As we come into the season of gratitude, I hope you take time to reflect on the many successes you've had and milestones met in the first third of the 2021-22 school year. From our school vantage point, I am deeply thankful for family partnership in our re-opening guidelines, which have ensured terrific student/family health rates, minimal quarantine moments, and limited disruptions to in-person learning. I am very thankful for the open communication families have with teachers, other school personnel, and me, which helps us provide the next steps of support in a variety of ways. I continue to be grateful for the health of our staff, students, and families, both in physical and mental health. I also love all of the successes I see in student growth on various academic targets, and I am filled with joy seeing students so happy with the results from their hard work and effort! It's quite a different time in comparison to one year ago: Thank goodness for that!
We look forward to celebrating Trimester awards in December and I look forward to being slimed by our students who participated in the American Heart Association's challenge. We are also looking ahead to our first Winter Festival: Please save the first Friday in December for that PTA-sponsored event after school.
This week we move closer to mapping out our Meet the Masters art program for this year, to recognizing the Great American Smokeout as we focus on a healthy, tobacco-free lifestyle, and enjoying more Staff Spotlights with our Certificated and Classified staff members. Remember to join us via Zoom on Wednesday for our SEL spotlight on Resilience--offered in English and Spanish.
Here's to a wonderful week, filled with an attitude of gratitude!

Report Cards : Continuing student momentum through steady progress
With report card season upon us, this is a time when we traditionally engage in critical conversations with parents about the needs of our students. This year is certainly like no other, since we are seeing a vast range of abilities and next steps within each classroom. Please continue to work closely with your child's teacher to reach daily and weekly milestones toward year-long success. Foundational skills can be developed through regular practice, whether it's practicing letter names and sounds, growing in two-step addition, rapidly recalling multiplication facts, and/or building writing skills: It's all about steady progress.
Please review the resources listed below for math supports and tutoring options as well as family resources, and reach out if we assist in any way.
