Welcome to GaVS Personal Fitness
This is a fitness course in which you will learn the skills needed to assess and plan a personal wellness program. During this course, you will learn a lot about yourself and develop a plan to be "Fit For Life".
We will use unique and interactive lessons, along with weekly workouts to develop student knowledge and participation in health related fitness activities. You will learn about your personal fitness levels, how to set fitness, nutrition, and wellness goals and how to develop an activity plan to accomplish those goals.To contact me throughout the semester, I can be reached at 404-918-6297 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Your daily responsibilities include...
1) Check your email EACH day (Monday through Friday)! I will only send you email through your Georgia Virtual School email account.
2) Check this News Announcements section daily! This is our classroom "whiteboard" where I will share important information. Make sure to read all news announcements and scroll to the bottom. Some days I may post more than one!!
3) Print out the GAVS Syllabus/Schedule for the start date that you have selected. The course schedule is included in this document and provides information on the work that you should complete each date. Your syllabus/course schedule will depend on your start date. Schedules are located in the Course Information widget on the right hand side of the homepage. Remember this course schedule determines your required Assignment due dates.
Please plan to attend the Welcome Synchronous Learning Session on Monday, Jan. 4th @ 8:00pm. Use the link located in the Course Information widget. My regular office hours will be Monday's at 8:00pm.
*If you cannot attend the live session, you must watch the recording before beginning the course. The recording link will be posted in your course after the session is completed.
Student work is due bi-weekly on THURSDAYS at midnight (11:59 pm) EST. Check course schedules for specific due dates. Work turned in after the deadline on the course schedule will be accepted within 3 school days following due date with a late penalty assessed. Late penalty begins on Friday and is deducted at a rate of 10% of the assignment value per school day. Work submitted on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday is considered 1 day late.
