Notes for the Week:
· This Week is an Intermediate Guidance Week
- I appreciate your patience as we examine our new morning procedures. As you see issues with the current practices, please contact Barbara Rollins or me
- Part of your schedule this year involves planning time with Barbara and Sarah. Due to their other obligations, they have chosen their time for these meetings. Primary teachers will meet on Friday afternoon during your planning. Intermediate teaches will meet on Tuesdays during planning.
- If your team has not selected a Lighthouse committee member, please make that selection immediately so your representative can join us on Monday, 8/24.
- Each week I want to recognize the great things going on at Audubon. If you know someone who needs to be recognized, please let me know.
- Please join me in welcoming Brittany Daugherty to our school. Brittany will be working at BES during the morning and at AES in the afternoon. We are excited to have her on our team.

The importance of Goals
Goals; a step that is necessary for continuous improvement professionally and personally. Setting a goal requires using Habit 2, knowing where you want to finish, and is relatively easy. The hardest part of a goal is staying focused on the processes set in place to reach the goal. Many times adversity, road blocks, or difficult times will cause us to lose focus on the end result. We stop "fighting the fight" temporarily or even sometimes permanently. We see the challenges as being insurmountable or too difficult to continue to push through. I am a firm believer that this is where a growth mindset is tested; during the difficult times when we must "embrace the suck" and push through the roadblocks that are keeping us from our goals. A favorite quote of mine is that you only lose when you quit. To keep from quitting we must remain focused on our goal, constantly assess our progress, and make adjustments to our plan when we are not moving forward. Below I have included our Vision Statement. This statement is the goal we have for Audubon Elementary. As we continue our journey we need to keep this end goal in mind regardless of the adversities we face.
