Mother's Christmas Luncheon

The second graders' voices rang out beautifully to begin the music portion of the Mothers' Luncheon on Friday. They were like angels singing up there, and we are so proud of them! The Mayfield moms were impressed and entertained.

Mothers entered Friday's Luncheon with a beautiful greeting...

Christmas Concert

Congratulations to the first and second graders for the wonderful, amazing performance on Wednesday night! Their beautiful voices singing Christmas songs, and their smiling faces got everyone in the Christmas spirit!

Advent Angel Book Exchange...sh-sh-sh... (it's a secret!)

The second graders continue to pray for their Advent Angels, and they all are wondering what books their Advent Angels would enjoy! The book for your child's Advent Angel should be wrapped and brought to school first thing on Friday, since the Advent Angel book exchange will be on Friday morning. The prayers and identity of the Angels will continue to remain a secret until then!

Homework and Read Across America

As we approach Christmas break, this week we will have regular homework on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. We will have a spelling test with homophones on Friday, but we will have no sentences, and no homework on Thursday night.

Important to Note: The last day to turn in Read Across America sheets for the first semester will be on Wednesday, January 6th. This Christmas break is a great opportunity for your children to read their favorite books. But don't forget to record them!

Second Grade Christmas Parties

The second grade class parties are on Wednesday at 2:15pm. Each class will have a special "Who Feast" celebration. Parents are invited to come and experience the second graders celebrating Christmas with their classmates. The parties will go until carpool.

Faith Matters: Family Time at Christmas

There is nothing more important at Christmas time than spending time with family, and making memories for your children. Following is a list of of Ideas that cost little or no money, that you can do with your family this Christmas. Set aside some time, and get back to the basics of Christmas. Take this list, and let each family member choose one, and then set aside an evening for each activity. While you may already do some of these things, this list may inspire you to come up with some new ideas! You will be surprised and amazed at how much this will change your family's outlook on Christmas.
