Mustang Athletes Sign College Scholarship Offers

The early signing period for NCAA National Letter of Intent began on Wednesday, November 11th. This marks the period that seniors across the country can sign scholarship offers with colleges and universities. Congratulations to four Strongsville athletes DJ Arslanian, Rachel Wymer, Ari Soika and Cassie Martin who recently signed their scholarship offers. Strongsville is extremely proud of these student athletes!


DJ signed with Cleveland State University and will receive an athletic and academic scholarship. DJ is the captain of the Strongsville swimming team, a member of the SwimStrong club team, an NCSA Jr. National qualifier, and a Speedo Jr. National qualifier.


Rachel Wymer signed with Illinois State University. Rachel is in her first season with the Mustangs swim team, having recently moved here from Virginia. Rachel is a three time NCSA Jr. National qualifier and a four time Virginia High School League 4A individual event state finalist.


Ari Soika, a swimmer, committed to attend Trinity College, a division three college located in Hartford, CT. Ari has been selected as the captain of this year's swimming team. She has been a two-time state qualifier, a sectional champion and selected as an all-conference selection twice.


Cassie Martin signed with Duke University and she is a member of the Mustangs track and field team. Throughout her SHS career thus far, Cassie was a two time Division 1 State Outdoor High Jump Champion and two time Division 1 State Indoor High Jump Champion.

Interims Posted November 17th

The second quarter interims will be posted on November 17th. Please log onto pass and check your child's progress to this point in the quarter.

Semester Exam Schedule

We are about a month away from semester exams, so we wanted to share the schedule. As in the past, students are required to take their exams during the assigned exam schedule. Also, students are only required to be in the building during their exam sessions. For example, students are not required to report for lunches or study halls.


FIRST SEMESTER EXAMS

Tuesday (Dec. 15) - Periods 1 and 5

Wednesday (Dec. 16) - Periods 2 and 6

Thursday (Dec. 17) - Periods 3 and 7

Friday (Dec. 18) - Periods 4 and 8


Testing Session I - 7:20-9:00 (Periods 1, 2, 3, and 4)

Testing Session II - 9:10 – 10:50 (Periods 5, 6, 7, and 8)

11:00 – 11:55 Lunch……………………………………………..

Highlighting SHS Success

SHS Band Has 8 Representatives At Honors Band Concert

Todd Anderson, Laura Brink, Collin Dewrye, Kyle Perisutti, Sydney Reik, Lizzie Smith, Diane Trepke, and Rebecca Wells of the High School Band were selected to perform in the combined District 4 and District 7 Honors Band. Selections were based on director nominations. The students rehearsed all day Friday and performed on Saturday at Cleveland State University's School of Music. They got to work with a conductor from the Hartt School of Music in Hartford, Connecticut. The students performed a world premiere of the piece Great Lakes Fanfare, which was composed for this occasion by the composer in residence.
