Hearts Aflame For the Love of Christ
Dear Jaguar Families,
Thank you so much for helping me celebrate my birthday this week. Once you drop a subtle hint like, "free dress down day for Mrs. Maddox Birthday," it's easy to get the birthday hype going. I have certainly felt the love from everyone and I am so grateful for all the warm wishes, cups of coffee, random acts of kindness, and special treats that have found their way into my office. What a joyful community we have, thank you again for your kindness.
I would like to encourage each of you to come see our 8th grade musical next week, Mary Poppins. I have enjoyed watching Mrs. Rezac and our young adults prepare and perfectly polish their show over the past few weeks. I am so impressed with their talent and dedication. Thank you also to our 8th grade class for their reverent performance of, The Living Stations of the Cross. What a special experience for our parish community. I am not exaggerating when I say many of the scenes touched me emotionally. There is something special about watching people you know portray the Passion of our Lord. I think knowing the people involved made their portrayal very personal and real. Thank you to Mrs. Zanatta, Mr. Neff, Mrs Reddin, and Mr. Rottinghaus for all their hard work and preparation they put into the presentation.
Spring is finally here!!! March is slowly creeping into our daily routine with the right amount of cool air and sunshine. Our students and teachers are in official countdown mode, 3rd Quarter will end next Thursday, Spring Break will begin Friday, and when students return to school in mid-March our energy will no doubt be focused on Easter, First Communion, Confirmation, and finally Graduation. With Hearts Aflame for the Love of Christ, we are headed into Spring Break anticipating the sunshine, longer days, and busy, but productive, spring schedule.
With A Grateful Heart,
Jodie Maddox

St. Joseph Annual Flower/Plant Sale
Sponsored by
the School Garden Club
All plant sale orders are due next Wednesday, March 11th. Flowers must be picked up on Friday, May 1st between 11:00am and 6:00pm at the EEC Carpeted Gym. All checks are to be made payable to St. Joseph School.
The family selling flowers is responsible for pick-up and delivery to each customer.
Please do not have individual customers pick up their orders. The School Garden Club has taken an active role this year in helping around the school. We planted more plants around the campus and laid mulch. We purchased new mats for the gym, bought playground equipment and other things around the school. We also donate to the school auction and many other things. We are looking for volunteers to assist with set-up on Friday, May 1st and additional volunteers for flower pick up later that day. Seventh and Eighth grade students are eligible for service hours for working the flower pick up.
Please contact Shannon Foley 913-302-8505 with any questions or to volunteer your time.

Jaguar Jog- Fun Run!!!
Parents!
We’re so excited to host a Fun Run (powered by Boosterthon) to help our school! Boosterthon is a fun, nine-day program that combines world-class character content with a highly-profitable fundraiser. Thank you for your support!
To increase the excitement and school spirit of this event, we’re hoping to provide each student with a FREE custom St. Joseph Jaguar Jog t-shirt to wear the day of the Fun Run event, at no cost to our students or school.
Last year we were able to partner with community businesses to provide custom shirts to all our students. We’re hoping to partner with EVEN MORE local businesses this year, and we need your help! If you know of or are a part of a business that would like to sponsor our t-shirts, please see the attached Sponsorship Form for more information.
We need a commitment and logos from all sponsors by March 10, 2020 in order to supply all our students with a shirt.
Thank you in advance for supporting our school through the Fun Run! If you have any questions, please contact Michelle Reddin at mreddin@stjoeshawnee.org
