Husky Happenings
Week of February 6, 2023
Message from Mrs. Sheppard
I hope you have enjoyed the weekend!
We are very excited to send our 5th graders off to Camp Storer this week. I am sure they will love it! Our 5th-grade team has worked so hard to make this happen for our students so I want to thank Ms. Gamble, Ms. Markham, and Mr. Bejczy for all of their hard work.
This week in the Positivity Project we are focusing on OPM (Other People's Mindset). This means when other people succeed, I am happy for them and cheer them on! Here is the parent letter that goes with this trait so that you can discuss it with your child.
As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me.

Lunch Menu

Extra slices of Pizza are $2.00 each. You can send the money in any time throughout the week and Ms. Pam will add it to their account.
There are some days when the menu could possibly change due to food items not being available. We will let the students know if there are changes as soon as we find out.

Girls on the Run Sign Up!! 3rd-5th Grade Girls
Hello Husky Families!
We will be having a Girls on the Run team here at Graham this Spring. Registration is open and additional information can be found at the link below.
https://www.gotrdetroit.org/register-your-girl/
Girls on the Run is a positive program for girls in grades 3rd - 5th and we meet twice a week, Tuesday and Thursday, from 4 - 5:30 pm. We will talk and learn about topics such as positive self-talk, positive body image, peer pressure, etc. A fraction of each session we will work on various physical activities. At the end of the program, we will gather with other teams in our region, on Sunday, May 21st, and participate in a 5k. Girls and families can run, walk, hop, jump, etc. throughout the event. It is a big celebration of the amazing girls and their accomplishments! I have coached for approximately 10 years and it is incredibly rewarding for the girls and coaches alike.
You will see a fee for the program, however, there are several scholarships that are awarded. If cost is the only factor, please reach out to me and we will figure something out. No one is turned away due to financial reasons. I am looking forward to an amazing season and I hope to see many of our girls on the team!
