Did you miss our first Kindergarten Open House?
If you have an incoming Kindergarten student for the 2024-25 school year, please join us for our second Kindergarten Open House on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, from 5:30 to 7:00 pm.

Cheerleading Sign Ups Go "Live" on 1/12/24
Are you ready for Cheerleading to start?
Sign ups for the CTA Liberty Cheer Team go "LIVE" on Friday, January 12th. Please visit the Community Ed Website to sign your student up to be part of the team. The enrollment is limited so be sure you sign up as soon as the enrollment opens to secure a spot.
Practices start the week of February 5th.
- Kindergarten through 2nd grade: Mondays, 2:45 - 4:00 pm
- Third through 6th grade: Fridays, 2:45 - 4:00 pm

Martin Luther King Day Holiday - 1/15/24
In observance of Martin Luther King Day, there will be no school on Monday, January 15th.
Martin Luther King Day is a federal holiday in the United States marking the birth of Martin Luther King Jr.
READBowl 2024
CTA Liberty is excited to announce that all students will be participating in Share the Magic Foundation’s READBowl, a global reading competition for Pre-K through 8th grade students, designed to inspire students to read and provide teachers with a platform to motivate students to increase reading minutes. Founded by Super Bowl Champion and children’s book author, Malcolm Mitchell, Share the Magic Foundation provides in school and free virtual programming to students across the country.
CTA Liberty will join students across the country and around the world to compete in READBowl, the World Championship of Reading, beginning on Monday, January 8th, the day of the NCAA College Football Championship. Our students will compete in four quarters(weeks) of reading action through February 5th. Mitchell will announce the World Champions on Super Bowl Sunday, February 11th.
Please join us in reading with our students and wishing them good luck in this year's READBowl. With our Eagle community behind us, there is no doubt that CTA Liberty will read to succeed in READBowl.

CTA Liberty Spelling Bee Winners
Congratulations to Mohammed Siddique Shaikh and Nolan Graham (pictured here) for doing an amazing job at the CTA Liberty Spelling Bee! Nolan outlasted the other students and will represent our school at the district spelling bee next quarter. Mohammed will represent us if Nolan is unable. We're so proud of all of our Eagles!
CTA Liberty Running Club Race Results From 12/12/23
CTA Liberty Running Club participated in the first CUSD Race on Wednesday, 12/12. Needless to say, the team out performed all the coaches expectations! CTA Liberty brought home 37 ribbons!

DLI Presentation at the 12/13/23 Governing Board Study Session
At the December 13 Governing Board Study Session, CUSD students shared their Dual Language Immersion experience. In 2014, CUSD began offering Dual Language Immersion and it has grown over the years. CTA Liberty began offering the Spanish Dual Language Immersion program in 2015 and Lucy Kaller (pictured here second from the right) represented Liberty at the study session. She did an amazing job! Thank you, Lucy!

Library Materials Selection and Adoption
CTA Families - This notification is to inform you that we will be purchasing new books/materials for our library on January 9, 2024. State law mandates that schools notify parents of the opening and closing public view period within seven (7) school days prior to the opening date. Therefore, this notice dated January 9, 2024, provides the opening date of the public review period for newly purchased library books/materials as January 17, 2024 and the closing date of January 17, 2024.

PTO APEX Fundraiser - Thank you!
The PTO would like to send a huge THANK YOU to all the parents, friends and family who donated to the APEX Fun Run. In addition, we would like to thank the administration, staff and teachers for all of your support during these two weeks! This was a huge success and we could not have pulled it off without all of you! We are beyond grateful for everyone’s generosity and are happy to assist with purchasing additional handheld radios for the school and each teacher will receive 10% of what their classroom earned toward their classroom.
PTO Free Dress Fundraiser - 1/19/24
This month the PTO is raising money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS).
“LLS is a global leader in the fight against blood cancer. The LLS mission: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.”
Bring an optional $1 donation to school on Friday, January 19th and wear free dress. PTO will donate half of the proceeds to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS).

Location: Willis Jr. High located at 401 S. McQueen Road, Chandler
Time: 6:00 - 8:00 pm
- *All students attending must be chaperoned by an adult*
- *All adults must remain at Willis Jr. High with students for the duration of the event*
Cost per adult-child couple: $15 early bird (thru January 26th)
- $20 at the door
- $5 for each additional person
Featuring: DJ RachelZ, Light Refreshments, Photo Booth

*SCHOOL/SAFETY REMINDERS*
General School Reminders
As a reminder:
- Drop Off in the morning is no earlier than 7:45 am. Although building doors may be unlocked, students are not allowed on campus until 7:45 am.
- In the North (back) parking lot students should only enter or exit cars in front of the Muli-purpose Room. They should not be entering or exiting cars in front of the annex or along the curb leading to the Muliti-purpose Room.
- Students should not exit cars on Emmett Drive while waiting to enter the parking lot.
- No U-Turns in crosswalks or in front of the school.
- The back gate closes at 8:05 am to allow teachers to report to their classrooms. If the back gate is closed you must drop your student off through the front gate and follow the drop off rules. Please do not have your student exit your car until they have reached a teacher at the front of the line.
- Please have your student dressed appropriately for the weather. If they wear a jacket or sweater to school, please be sure it is dress code approved (red, white or blue) and clearly labeled with the student's name. All water bottles should also be labeled.
- Only students and staff are allowed on campus, with the exception of Pre K parents, for drop off and pick up. During school hours, parents may only enter campus through the front office.
- After school clubs: No parents/guardians are allowed on campus for after school clubs. Students will be directed to their club location by staff and parents/guardians should pick up at the appropriate time in the south parking lot (front of school near the flag). The club sponsor will stay with the students until they are picked up.
