News and Notes from the Principal
The first three weeks of the 20-21 school year have been a unique opportunity for not only our students but also our staff! The new year brought on much "NEW" and everyone is working together to make the best of our current situation. With a 4-day weekend ahead, it is important that the students take this time to rest, relax and most importantly maintain the precautions in place so we can continue to enjoy school together.
With much change and newness with various opportunities this year - the need to clearly communicate becomes vital. Please use this newsletter, our social media sites and our school web page as your source of information for the latest communication.
Just a few reminders below:
- If your student is not feeling well, please do NOT send them to school. With concurrent learning they have the opportunity to take advantage of the curriculum even when not present - they can log into their google meets.
- Face Coverings are to be worn at ALL times while on campus, when lunch is not being consumed.
- Congregation before/after school is strongly discouraged. If we want to maintain in-person schooling it is important that we ALL work together to make this happen.
- If your child is unable to attend school due to COVID-related symptoms please be sure to contact the school to speak with the nurse: (tparker@bryan.k12.ga.us or dfoster@bryan.k12.ga.us) - All attendance related notes should be submitted to Ms. Carolyn Oetjen via email at (coetjen@bryan.k12.ga.us)
- eLearners are expected to follow the same schedule and meet the same expectations regarding timely arrival, interactions, assignment completion, etc. as their in-person counterparts.
Our staff continues to impress and truly make a positive mark on this 20-21 school year! The relentless efforts and upbeat attitudes show the resiliency of both the educators and students in such unique times! After all, we are #BetterTogether #WeAreRH!

RHHS - School Store Survey
Hello! We are students attending Richmond Hill High School. We are in the Entrepreneurship course that runs the RHHS School Store, part of the CTE Business Pathway. If you are willing to show support for our school, please take this survey, and tell us what you'd like to see in our school store! We would need your responses by September 9th. Please don't be shy, give us your feedback. Thank you!
Advanced Placement Exams
Taking Advanced Placement exams is an important part of all AP courses. Richmond Hill High School expects that all students take AP exams for the AP classes in which they are enrolled. Scoring well on an AP exam can often earn students college credit for their high school class, saving a significant amount of money on tuition. For the 2021 AP exams, students at Richmond Hill High School will be registering online. Online Exam registration is open now and will end for the year on Mon, Mar 1, 2021 at 11:59 PM. Register and pay for exams at www.TotalRegistration.net/AP/112525. This year each AP exam costs $100.00, with the exception of AP Seminar and AP Research ($145). The state of Georgia pays for ONE exam for each student who is taking a STEM exam (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math). Also, students who qualify for Free or Reduced Lunch are eligible for their first exam free and receive a fee reduction on any other exams. If you fall into either of these categories (STEM or Free/Reduced lunch), be sure to answer appropriately during the registration process. Registration ends and payment is due for courses beginning in Semester 1 by Friday, October 30. Registrations and payments after this date will incur a $40 late fee per exam. There will be another registration and payment window for courses beginning in second semester. Please contact Mrs. Merry Tanner, mtanner@bryan.k12.ga.us if you have any questions.
