Principal's Message
RMS Team- It is the month of December and I am astonished that we arrived here so quickly! They say time flies when you are having fun and it has been a busy year, but so far a very good one! I hope that your Thanksgiving Break was a great and enjoyable with your loved ones. I particularly enjoyed having my parents here in Little Rock as this was their first time here. Thanksgiving Break is always special because we have an opportunity to recharge and come back for 15 actual school days of intentional instruction before the December 23rd Winter Holiday Break! Our goal is to push our students to do better than the previous school year, so this means giving quality tasks and providing meaningful feedback to help them grow. Please refrain from giving outside the Core Curriculum holiday work (work should be meaningful). Stay true to the curriculum and ensure that students are utilizing 21 century learning skills (Read Below: 4 Essential Rules of 21st Century Learning).
For this week, I need all staff to be prepared for the upcoming data meeting. Information to help all staff be prepared for the meeting is shared below.
Math- ELA-Social Studies- Please submit your data meeting responses electronically by 1:00pm Monday.
Science-PE/ Health-Fine Arts- Please submit your data meeting response electronically by 1:00pm Wednesday.
Know your data and be prepared to talk about your data. Have a plan for next steps as we will come together and review progress made after winter break.

Department Chair Member
Department Chair gives a brief description of the particular data to be discussed. Each member of the team shares parts of the data that catches their attention? Just the facts.
Answer the following questions prior to the meeting as it will be discussed. Please know your data and your students.
Data Questions
Responses
Part 1:
What does the data tell us? What does the data NOT tell us? What evidence do you have to support your statements?
Part 2:
What good news is there to celebrate? What indicators of success do we have when looking at our data?
Part 3:
What are the problems of practice suggested by the data (narrow focus on problems of practice)?
Part 4:
What are our key conclusions?
What recommendations does the team have for addressing the problems of practice? This is the action phase of the data analysis. The team formulates action plans to be followed at the next data meeting. Action plan will be recorded within the minutes to be added to the SIP.
Part 5: Thinking Beyond…
What will we do to move ALL students towards growth on ACT Aspire (collectively and individually)?
