the RAH
January 6-10, 2020
from Mike & J
Welcome to 2020! As with most things, how great (or bad) it is usually dependent on two things: your attitude, and your work. We are super proud of the individuals that you are, the mindset that you have, and the commitment you put into action to support staff and students in the learning and achievement. Below are some updates that will provide value for you.
Taking time to celebrate
As our first semester closed, there was muchy to be thankful for and celebrate across the district. From increased attendance rates and MOY learning results to decreased behavior incidents and loss of instruction time, you and your teams are making a difference in the future of our students. Thank you for creating a culture of caring and support in your school and for doing whatever it takes to ensure student success each day.
Preparing for a successful second half
Coming back from Christmas break is much like starting a whole new school year. Our students and teachers have had a chance to recharge their batteries and we have a chance to capitalize on that “second wind” of energy that comes from coming back from vacation. This is a critical time for our schools to take a moment to hit the reset button and be intentional about discussing and practicing behavioral expectations throughout the building. Time invested here will pay huge dividends as we plan to have a successful second half of learning, giving your students a refresher around what successful behaviors look like at our school.
Care to Learn - Shop with a Hero
We received word just this morning that the Care to Learn has secured funding to continue the Shop with a Hero event - but we don't know yet how much. The event is scheduled for Saturday, Feb 1. As we have a short turnaround, you will receiving information at the end of this week. As we are working out the details, please keep a lookout for at least to kiddos in your school who would benefit from health/hunger/hygiene items (this includes clothing items.). More to come as soon at the end of this week.
Asking for email response grace
Both of us were out for the entire break...and have come back to inboxes generously filled. Know we will work with to catch up. If you sent something that requires immediate attention, and are sitting in front of your devices anxiously awaiting a reply, please send us a text and let us know.
Job Alike agenda items
We are working our learning agenda for our Ele Job Alike on Jan 15. If there are any items you wish to be considered for discussion, please send our way by this Thursday before you leave. Thank you!
