Parent-Teacher Conferences
We look forward to your participation as we continue to partner with you to support your student’s education.
Extracurricular Clubs & Activities
Because special school events, such as spirit weeks, dances, competitions, and a talent show, were also suggested by student survey responses, a group of students has already started planning for festivities during Halloween week at Compass. Students will get more information about this soon.
Fall PSAT Testing
The Fall PSAT date is October 13th. 9th grade students will be taking College Board's PSAT 8/9. This will be an online exam and students will need their Chromebooks.
10th and 11th grade students will be taking College Board's PSAT/NMSQT exam in the traditional paper and pencil format.
All Compass Academy 9th-11th grade students will take the PSAT at their home high school. The test is on a Wednesday, so students who do not typically attend classes at their home high school will have the option to take district transportation to and from East or North that day.
More information about this will be shared as we get closer to the testing day.

The Panorama SEL Survey for Students in Grades 3-12
Community Unit School District 303
201 S. 7th Street, St. Charles, IL 60174-2664 ◦ (331) 228-2000 ◦ www.d303.org
August 2021
Dear Parent/Guardian,
St. Charles Community Unit School District 303 strives to provide all students with the best opportunity to succeed academically, socially, and behaviorally in school. As part of this commitment, District 303 is enhancing our Multi-Tiered Systems of Supports (MTSS) across the district for the 2021-2022 school year.
This year, students in grades 3-12 will be completing a universal screening tool to assess their social and emotional learning skills. The use of universal screening allows us to refine and strengthen our efforts to help all students achieve success by taking positive and preventative measures as early as possible. This also provides us with the opportunity to assist students who may need additional support with social and emotional learning.
One of the universal screening tools used by the District is the Panorama SEL Survey, which focuses on the following areas:
Self-Management
Emotional Regulation
Social Awareness
Grit
Self Efficacy
Sense of Belonging
Teacher-Student Relationship
The Panorama SEL Survey will be completed two times this school year during the weeks of September 27th to October 8th and March 14th to 25th. If a screening shows that a student will benefit from additional skill development, parents will be contacted and will work in collaboration with school staff to problem-solve and determine next steps.
Additional information about this screener and other assessments in District 303 may be found on our website at https://district.d303.org/departments/assessment. Thank you for your support and assistance in ensuring each of our students has the opportunity to achieve academic and social-emotional success.
Please feel free to contact your building principal or me if you have questions.
Sincerely,
David Chiszar
