Mission Statement
Success According to the Champion Coach
This is the definition Coach Wooden gave when asked about success. When you read his book he talks about building this pyramid of success and how it took hundreds of hours over years to complete. He even took some of the blocks out as he realized they weren't the most important and rearranged some. There are two, the cornerstones, that he says he decided upon in 1934 and he states that he wouldn't change them and that he would choose them again in 1997, when he wrote this book. They are industriousness and enthusiasm. He says they are the biggest and most essential blocks.
"Industriousness? I mean very simply that you have to work and work hard. There is no substitute for work. Worthwhile things come only from work. I challenge you to show me one single solitary individual who achieved his or her own personal greatness without lots of hard work. Michael Jordan? More important than his physical ability is the way he has worked hard to improve any weaknesses he had. Jack Nicklaus? Mr. Nicklaus is legendary for his hard work. Cal Ripken Jr.? The same. And anyone else you might care to mention who has achieved personal success and competitive greatness. Businessperson, clergy, doctor, lawyer, plumber, artist, writer, coach or player, all share a fundamental trait. They work hard. More than that, they love hard work... Hard work is essential, and only you really know if you're giving it everything you've got. People who always try to cut corners will never come close to realizing their full potential." pg. 175-176
I have always said that you all work harder than any staff around. I truly believe that. So it comes down to the details and the small things that add up. Are we giving our best and working to our full potential each and every day. Only you can answer that and only you have the answer for your best each minute of the day. Did you put the work in to be fully prepared for each day and each part of your day? Are you prepared for PROWL each day? Are you starting instruction each day on time? Are you losing precious mins or are you giving attention to the little details? The answers to these questions are yours and they determine the champions we build.

Ms. Carpenter passed the torch to Mrs. Catlett.
"I am passing the StandOUT Award to somebody who works hard and does a lot of behind the scenes work! She gives her all in all she does! She helps our students reach their full potential and always does it with a smile on her face. We appreciate all you do, Mrs. Catlett."
