Designing the FutureBoard: Lachlan Bolton ISEF 2018 Young Scientist delegate
Lachlan’s challenge was to design and build an extendable modular surfboard that could fit in any car. His design, the Future Board, is the world’s first ultra-portable, extendable surfboard. It has the ability to breakdown to half its original size and fit into a regular bodyboard bag. Its unique functionality allowing it to be extended in length creates more flexibility for surfers when choosing the right board for the conditions making it a truly innovative device. It is made from 100% recycled materials making it a sustainable device.

Like the stars of stage, screen and Sesame Street, the 25-year-old green tree frog called Godzilla was immediately ready for his croak up.
When Godzilla saw an iPhone at the Australian Museum this week, the male frog hugged it. It was an appropriate response given that a new smart phone app called FrogID is being described as an "urgent rescue mission" to save frogs that are vulnerable or endangered. - SMH 10th November 2017
