Club Hope
There is a new club at Southridge, Club Hope. The club's mission is to raise awareness and support for students who are experiencing homelessness in the Beaverton School District. There are currently over 960 Beaverton School District students who qualify as homeless. These students might live in their car, a motel, double up in housing, or are completely unsheltered--this number does not even include unstable or unpredictable housing. These students do not choose to be homeless, but through no fault of their own, they face this difficulty on top of the stress of high school.
There will be club meetings every other Tuesday of the month at 2:40pm in Ms. Chamberlain’s room, E101. New club members are always welcome to stop by and join to help make our mission possible. If there are any questions please email srhs.clubhope@gmail.com!
IB Research Study--We are asking for your consent!
School is one of a few schools in two countries (the United States and
Sweden) selected to participate in a research study on global
citizenship. Student participation involves completing a 30-minute
survey during an advisory period.
Please click on the link below to read about the study. Then, type your
name at the bottom of the link if you give your child permission to

Attendance Procedures and Reminders
24-hour attendance hotline -- 503-356-2981
● Call the Attendance Hotline before 9:00 am on the day of the absence. If you do not know
your student’s ID#, say their name clearly and please spell the last name; or, send a note with
your student the next day.
● Note: Absences due to oversleeping or missed transportation cannot be excused.
● Unexcused absences make athletes ineligible to participate on that day. Absences must be
pre-arranged; they will not be excused after the absence in order to play.
● All BSD campuses are closed campus. Once students arrive, they are expected to remain on
campus until 2:30 pm. Students who leave campus without permission are subject to
disciplinary action.
● Students will only be released to individuals identified in the student information system.
● If a student falls ill at school they will report to the health room. If a student calls to pick them up, please have them report to the health room.
● If students have to leave school during the day for an appointment, etc: send a note with them. The student is to then bring the note to the Attendance Desk to get a “Flight Pass” excusing the absence. Students will show the Flight Pass to the teacher to be admitted (late arrival), or be dismissed (leave early) at the designated time to meet their parents in the office or curbside.
● If you believe you have gotten an incorrect absence please contact the teacher with questions/concerns, for classroom attendance is recorded by the teacher. If a correction needs to be made, the teacher will notify the Attendance Secretary. If the absence is pre-arranged with a note or called in, contact the Attendance Desk at 503-356-2891.
