Vocabulary Parade Is A Hit!

Today was the 4th annual Vanderlyn Elementary Vocabulary Parade. It was a great morning and so much fun for everyone. We are so pleased to see the imagination and creativity of our 4th graders come to life in such an incredible way. Way to use our ROBUST vocabulary 4th graders!

4th Grade Updates

Subject Area Updtaes

Math - We are finishing up our study of multiplication and will be moving into long division over the next few weeks. All math classes will have culminating multiplication quiz during next week. Individual math teachers will send out the day of their quiz.


ELA - Book Clubs are off and running and the students are really enjoying the opportunity to learn with their peers. The positive effect group work has on a student's ability to understand and achieve success is immeasurable.


Social Studies - We are traveling the world with our Explorers' Unit. Students are tracking paths to the new world, discovering the hardships, challenges, triumphs of our early travelers to our country.


Science - We are finishing our unit on water and weather. The students are mapping out fronts, looking for and understanding air masses, and learning how we use our weather measurement tools to help us predict forecasts. Our next unit will Ecosystems.

Field Trip forms are now due. Please get them into your child's teacher. Students who do not return their forms will not be permitted on the trip.
