Please make sure you check your child's folder for your time. The Fall Carnival will be Friday, October 4th and Picture Day is October 1st. We would love it if you could continue to work with your child on writing their name at home. Thanks for all you do!!
Students in Mrs. Yarbro's class are having fun on recess!

September has flown by with record speed! Thank you very much for sending apples to school to help with our apple study. We learned so much, created graphs, measured with apples, explored the inside of apples, and most importantly tasted them. We also learned the letter M and sight words: black, brown, white, like, at am, and, & please. In October we will be learning about pumpkins, bats, and spiders, the letters S, A, & T, and the sight words: did, eat, four, & get. We appreciate your help at home with checking folder, doing homework, and practicing letters and sight words.

You should be getting notification to sign up for Parent/Teacher Conferences, these are on the 8th and 10th. We have started multiplication so have your child practice all of the facts nightly. We will have a weekly timed test on all of the facts. Our goal is to show improvement on our Data Binder graph for this skill. Reflex math is a great website for them to use at home. We are excited to announce that this year we have the largest honor choir in Lakehoma history! Rehearsals are off to a wonderful start, and we are looking forward to our first performance at Lakehoma's Veteran's Day assembly on November 11th. We hope to see you there!

We have had a busy September! We have created artwork to honor Western Days and for our fall art fundraiser using our element of art: lines! We also have been inspired by the contemporary artist, Heather Galler. I thank you so much for paying your child's art supply fee, which helps with our consumable items like glue, paper, paint, crayons, and pencils. Our Art to Remember fundraiser will start at the end of October and this year, we are raising money for brand new tables and chairs for our students. Look for a personalized brochure and letter coming home with your student soon! Thank you for all you do to support the Lakehoma Art Program!
