Senior Yearbook Photos

Cavanaugh Photography will be in the Auditorium Lobby all day Tuesday, October 12th, for any senior who has not yet had their senior head shot photo taken for the 2021 yearbook. Students who have already gone to Cavanaugh Photography to have their head shot taken do not need to come on this day. There is no charge for this head shot photo. The senior will not be allowed to see the photos taken or choose which photo should be in the yearbook. If the senior does not have their picture taken by Cavanaugh, their photo will not be in the yearbook. This applies for the yearbook head shot only.

Marching Band Show

The BMHS Marching Band will be performing outside on the grassy area between the two parking lots in the front of BMHS Thursday, October 14th, at 7:00 P.M. weather permitting. If the concert needs to be postponed due to weather the rain out dates are scheduled for Wednesday, October 20th or Thursday, October 21st. Because the show is being held outside, tickets will not be sold and is open to everyone. Audience members are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating and to observe social distancing protocols. Patron Members who were entitled to free tickets through their patron membership, will have a special area near the band to enjoy the show. The band will perform on the lawn nearest the school playing toward Bagley Road. Due to the weather, one of the above nights will be the night of the show and the night chosen will be based on the confidence of the weather forecast. We will do our best to give as much advance notice as possible through all of our communication platforms.

Highlights from the Gifted Department

Seniors who still need to check in with Ms. Darrow or Dr. Reubensaal about your college application, enlistment, or employment future plans, please do so soon! The Guidance Office would like to have students submit all college applications by October 13, 2021 so all materials may be processed by your counselor, and you have time to check with the colleges to make sure everything has arrived by November 1. Some colleges may have earlier deadlines than November 1st, so check the websites of all the schools to which you plan to apply and put reminders in your phone ahead of the deadlines so you don't miss one. Sixty per cent of all students admitted to colleges last year applied by November 1.

If you need input on your college essay, I’m available to provide insights and share samples, as well as look over brag sheets or other areas.

My college meetings for juniors will be starting in October. The first session will cover college lists by majors, score mid-ranges, brag sheets & resumes, monthly “to-do” lists, and more. A second junior session will be in the spring. Sessions will be held in my office during Lunch & Learn and the dates will be announced. Students: please check your email for these dates!

If your student has not already done so, please remind them to fill out the Google Form that was sent out to identified students in the first few weeks of school. Here, they may select areas about which they would like to receive more information. They may find the link to the form on my Blackboard page.
