From the Principal
Dear Parents/Guardian:
One of the most exciting tasks we have at schools is to create homeroom classrooms which present the greatest opportunity for all children to learn and succeed. Among the variables we consider are class size, gender and ethnicity ratios, ability and exceptionality distribution, special learning needs, student personalities, and learning and teaching styles. Each year, teachers, counselors, and administrators work together to find an appropriate assignment for each student, and we welcome your parental input as we begin this thoughtful and important process. Completing a placement form is neither necessary nor required and often addresses the exception rather than the rule. However, we want to be sure that parents have an opportunity to share concerns with us.
If you feel your child has specific learning needs, health issues or unique considerations that should be brought to our attention, please complete the online form using the link on the CCES Homepage. Please do NOT ask for a specific teacher by name but instead describe the environment that you feel might best support your child’s learning needs. Once our class assignments are made and school begins, placements are tentative through the 10-day count. However, we work hard to create classes that require no changes outside of increasing enrollment.
Any input regarding this process must occur through the submission of the online form and cannot be honored in any other way. In communications with your current teachers through this year, please do not name teacher preferences or solicit a teacher recommendation from your child’s current teacher. Additionally, please be aware that grades four and five departmentalize for the curriculum content areas. Finally, continuous achievement levels are taken into consideration based on teacher assignments for math and reading classes.
Sincerely,
Dr. Rachel A. Williams
PTO Dance and basket Raffle Tonight!
Tonight is our free PTO sponsored 80’s Dance and Basket Raffle. The location will be our CCES Café and Gym. Students are not permitted in any other areas of our school building due to safety. Officer Linda Robinson will be on campus to provide security. Students should be supervised by an adult throughout the evening. Drop offs are not allowed. Food will be available for purchase, including Zaxby's and pizza, so please bring cash. The raffle drawing will be held promptly at 7:30 on the stage and you do not have to be present to win. The dance will end promptly at 8:00 so our custodial team can begin clean up and depart campus on time. Thanks in advance for your cooperation. We look forward to a fun filled night.
