Charger Check-In
November 10, 2022
A Note from Ms. Owens
On Monday this week, our students participated in our annual bus evacuation drill. Our students did a fabulous job taking the drill seriously and giving their attention to the instructor, Mr. Rick. Thank you to our teachers of our younger students for making the children feel safe and comfortable by presenting it as something fun -- the chance to go on a school bus! On Wednesday, our 7th and 8th graders - along with FFF students - spent the day in their Confirmation Retreat led by Fr. Tom McCarthy and a team of student leaders from St. Rita. The students had an excellent day and shared that they truly enjoyed the retreat. Thank you to Ms. Ward for organizing this opportunity for the 7th and 8th graders to grow in their faith. Thursday, the annual Scholastic Book Fair got off to a spectacular start. The children were excited to show me their new books. One PK4 student shared that his new books are for his Friday night bedtime reading! And Friday (today), our NJHS chapter is hosting a Veterans Day Mass and Reception at 8:30AM to honor these heroes. If you are a veteran, please join us!
If parents, guardians or other family members would like to shop the Book Fair, it will be open on Sunday from 9AM-11:30AM in the library. It's a great treat before or after Sunday morning mass.
Thank you and congratulations to Mrs. Poole and Mrs. Sullivan on last week's restart of the Toddling Chargers program. Their willingness to organize these Friday mornings (8:20-9:20AM in the gym) provide a safe and welcoming space for parents/guardians and their young children to socialize and play.
Please note that extended care will not be available the afternoon of Friday, November 18 to allow for that evening's Holiday Wishes Vendor Fair.
