First Week of School
Dear El Carmelo Families,
The first three days of school have been filled with happy faces, making new friends, and learning how to navigate Schoology, Seesaw, and Zoom. Our teachers are enjoying getting to know their new students. I have enjoyed seeing how much they have grown since early June.
THANK YOU for your patience and understanding regarding the connectivity issues and technical challenges that arise. We are learning with you, from you, and from each other, at our site and across the district.
With the exception of a couple of items, this newsletter is all about ways to help you and your child get connected to teaching and learning.

Student Insurance Information
School Lunch
Lunch Application Forms
Should you be interested in free or reduced lunch, applications are below. More information can be found here.
Families that received free or reduced lunch during the 2019-2020 school year need to reapply by September 24, 2020, to avoid being charged for meals.
Lunch Pick-up
PAUSD Food Services continues to offer lunch to ALL FAMILIES who participate in the school lunch program including paid, free, or reduced lunch. Parents will need your child's Student ID number and your lunch account will be charged accordingly.
The “drive-through”/"walk-through"/"bike-through" lunch pick-up for students occurs:
- Monday: 10:45 am-1:00 pm
- Tuesday through Friday: 10:30 am-12:10 pm
Locations: JLS, Greene, and Gunn
- JLS, 480 East Meadow Dr.
- Green, 750 North California Ave.
- Gunn, 780 Arastradero Rd.
PLEASE DO NOT GET OUT OF THE CAR, FOR YOUR SAFETY AND THE SAFETY OF THE FOOD SERVICE STAFF.
If you are walking or biking, please keep at least six feet between each group.
Please do not come if you are sick.

Have you taken the Schoology Backpack Course?
Enjoy this training on how to use Schoology. The "PAUSD Schoology Backpack," is a course for parents all about Schoology. This is the Learning Management System teachers are using to communicate with students. ALL of the assignments and Zoom links to live instruction can be found here. Students will submit their work using Schoology. Our young learners will access SeeSaw through Schoology. All parents are automatically enrolled.

New Students
Returning Students Who Forgot their User Name or Password
To access a student user name and/or password:
- Students, or parents on behalf of their child need to submit an email to support@pausd.org.
- Provide the student’s name and ID number and the name of the school student attends.

Need a wifi hot spot? Email me at dreynolds@pausd.org and I will submit an IT request for you.
