Addams Staff Newsletter
January 20, 2015
On January 7th we hosted all elementary teachers in Royal Oak for some PD on creating math unit rubrics for our new math resource. As I visited each grade level I was very impressed with our Addams Teachers as they lead the morning of learning and showed once again how special they are!
Thank you again Addams Teachers for taking on the task of creating these math unit rubrics and leading the learning for our district at your grade level! You're hard work, effort and dedication is very much appreciated and yet another reason why I'm proud to be a part of our Addams Learning Community!
In an effort to create an avenue for staff to recognize each other for positive things, I’ve created the “Addams Spotlight.” I encourage you to take 10 seconds to recognize other colleagues. Click on the link below to add comments: http://bit.ly/1yetiP5

STAGES Self Evaluation Request: Although the self-evaluation in STAGES isn't due until April 15th, I will be sending a "Request" through STAGES. All this means is that you can officially begin to work on your self-eval. Before this request, you wouldn't have been able to have access to your self-evaluation.
Teacher of the Year: Please take some time to click on the link below to nominate an Addams Elementary teacher for the Teacher of the Year award. The window for these nominations will close on Friday, January 23: http://bit.ly/1BdbVO7

An email will be sent soon to 4th and 5th grade teachers to begin cleaning out the cabinets in the computer lab and upstairs work room so that space can be equally divided for teachers in 4th and 5th grade to use for storage purposes.
Tech integration Help: Allyson Dewar, tech integration specialist for Royal Oak Schools will be spending one day month at Addams to help us with any and all tech questions or support that we need. Her first visit will take place on Monday, January 20th. Please take advantage of this opportunity by clicking on the link below and select a time to meet with her or a time for her to come into your classroom!
Indoor Recess Mega Mix: Mega mixes are our most popular brain breaks, mixed together for longer GoNoodling sessions. Each mix takes the class through a warm-up, longer active session, and a cool-down at the end. Free and easy to sign up for! http://bit.ly/17Zqudm
Addams PTA Form: Please click on the link below and sign up to join our Addams PTA!
Lunch: Please be sure to take accurate lunch counts each day for the next day so that we have the correct amount of lunches available to students in all 3 lunches.

Addams PBIS Updates
PBIS– O.A.K.S: Teachers we are doing much better at hallway behavior on the way to the lunchroom! Please remember to keep walking your students down. Hallway congestion during transitions to Specials and to lunch happens on a daily basis.
Please remember to follow common courtesy for traffic flow in the halls. For example, if a class is coming down the stairs to lunch, please stop and let them all come down so that our classes are able to stay together. Also, this is a safety issue as bigger kids are coming down and little ones may be passing by.
