4th Grade Newsletter * Week of Sept. 19-23

From the Desk of Mrs. Eske:

Dear Fourth Grade Families,

Another adventurous week is upon us already! And all the while, we will be continuing to grow together!! Speaking of growing...tomorrow (Monday, Sept. 19th), we will be traveling to the College of the Ozarks campus for our Farm to School Field Trip!! ! We will be taking a tour of the campus, visiting different agricultural stations, and learning about how the food grown on campus gets incorporated into the student cafeteria menu. We will be leaving at 9 and returning around 2:30!! Please encourage your child to wear comfortable clothes and tennis shoes!!

They also need to bring their lunch and drink, if not getting one from our cafeteria.

In other news:

Mid-quarter grades will be sent home in your child's Monday folder. Please sign and return by Friday, September 23rd. If you have any questions please feel free to email me or call 523-3900.

Open House is Thursday, Sept. 22nd from 4:30-6. Students will be showcasing their hard work so far! Hope you can make it!!!

Attendance Smiles!! :) :)

Thank you for help with our attendance goals!!! Our attendance last week was much improved again!! Let's keep striving for our school goal of 95% or higher!!

"Pawsitive" Behavior Request... for...special area classes and behavior outside of the classroom... Students are encouraged and expected to be strong leaders during special area classes, just as they would be in our regular classroom. This year we have earned mostly 3's and 4's for good behavior in art, music, computers, P.E., and library. However, last week we had some behavior challenges during specials. We had a team meeting to discuss what we were doing well, and what we can do to strengthen our scores in special area classes. Please help me by encouraging your child to set those "Pawsitive" behavior expectations throughout the entire school day, whether that be during specials, lunch, during dismissal, at recess, etc. I appreciate your support! And thank you to my awesome fourth graders who always help us to lead by setting a "Pawsitive" example!!
