Hawk Happenings!
Holy Rosary Bilingual Academy
Message from the Principal - Dec. 5, 2018
Happy Wednesday and Welcome to the Season of Advent !!
Advent started last weekend and we are all using this time to prepare for Jesus to arrive. I hope that you are able to take some time out from the hectic nature of the holiday season to enjoy some special moments with friends and family and focus on the amazing gift of Jesus.
I am happy to report that things are working out well temporarily housing our church in the school. We actually have some excellent maintenance help! :) We got light bulbs replaced, microphones fixed, the sound system up and running, and a few other small items. Yeah!! Since we are working in union with the church, we want to help them with decorations which can be used for both our Christmas program and the Christmas services while we are out on break. Therefore, I have been asked if anyone knows of an inexpensive (or free place to get some Christmas trees). We are hoping to get a few tall trees for the sides of the stage and two small ones for the back of the stage. If you have connections (or want to donate one), please let me know. Thank you so much and have a wonderful week. Please note that next week, we will be having a special Mass for Our Lady of Guadalupe (in Spanish) on Wednesday, Dec. 12th (a special flyer will be sent out the end of this week with more details), so we will not have Mass on Friday, Dec. 14th. We will have our regular school Mass this Friday, Dec. 7th, though. Join us!
Blessings,
Katie Dempsey
Principal

Goodbye to Ms. Heidi...Hello to Mr. Ramirez and Ms. Miriam
We have hired Master Daniel Ramirez for morning Extended Care and PE. He is a Taekwondo Instructor (several of our students have him as a teacher!) who is fully bilingual in Spanish and English. He is currently working with students from the age of 4 and up and focuses on building self-confidence, character, and skill through mental and physical discipline. We are blessed to have him join us! He will be training next week and will begin with Extended Care the week of the 17th.
We have also been blessed to fill the afternoon Extended Care position with Ms. Miriam. She is actually Ms. Lizbeth's sister so you may have seen her around the school over the years. She is a fantastic young lady who is a hard worker, patient, and very responsible...while also being a lot of fun for the kids. She will be doing the afternoon position while she pursues her academic career in psychology. Ms. Miriam is also bilingual (Spanish/English) and has worked with students doing tutoring so she will be a great help for after-school homework. She will also be training next week and beginning the week of the 17th.
Please join me in welcoming both of our amazing new members to the Holy Rosary team.

Adios to Ms. Gricelda, Daniel, and Jessica...Bienvenidos to Ms. Lucia!
Last Day of School Before the Break...Dec. 20th!
There will be NO afternoon Extended Care on Thursday, Dec. 20th. This is a NOON dismissal and will be our last day before the Christmas break. We return from Christmas vacation on Monday, January 7th.

Fondo Anual
