December Virtual Parenting Session with Jackie Rhew
District 47 held a virtual parenting session called “Screen Time and Use of Technology: Parenting in a Digital Era” via Zoom on December 7. The meeting was the first of a four-part parenting series being offered by the district in partnership with Jackie Rhew, licensed mental health clinician, author and speaker. See below for a link to the recording as well as highlights from a D47 middle school student tech survey given in November . (Note: The recording is currently being translated in Spanish and will be available after winter break.) The next virtual parenting session, “Building Resilience in our Youth” will be held via Zoom on Thursday, January 19, 2023 at 7pm.

Happy Holidays
Dear North Families,
Can you believe that our winter break is around the corner? These past four months have been filled with many new learning opportunities. It has been so exciting to bring back all school assemblies & celebrations. We've had several field trips so far and have more planned for the spring! Many of our North Star Huskies have earned Positive Office Referrals, enjoyed Golden Paw classroom celebrations, and helped with our morning announcements each day. These learning experiences are just a few of the many excellent opportunities that we have already experienced.
We want to thank our NPTO members and all of our volunteers who have supported us. Your support and time makes such a difference. We look forward to many new journeys as we continue to learn and grow together.
Most importantly, thank YOU! Our team effort is what makes North Elementary a very special school. Have a safe and relaxing winter break and we look forward to seeing our North Star Huskies on Tuesday, January 3rd.
Warm regards,
Michelle Barrett & Danielle Bredemus
