2015-2016 School Year

It is hard to believe that we have reached the end of the school year. We have had a wonderful year. I just want to thank the parents for allowing us to have your child this year and for all the support you have given us. When we all work together it benefits our school, but especially our students!

Fitness Frenzy

This week we are having our Fitness Frenzy events for our students. The schedule for Fitness Frenzy Days are:

Monday - Kindergarten

Tuesday - First Grade

Wednesday - Second Grade

Thursday - Third Grade

Friday - Fourth Grade

They will do various activities in the mornings. Lunch will be from 12:00 - 1:30. Afternoon activities will be from 1:30 - 2:30. During this time there will be a concession stand with items that are 50 Cents, $1, and $1.50. If a child leaves between 2:30 - and 3:20, he/she need to be checked out and it will count as an early check-out.

First Security Hot Dog Day

First Security Bank will be at school on Tuesday, May 17th to cook hot dogs for all the students. The cafeteria will not be open that day, so if you come to have lunch with your child, you will need to bring what you will be eating for lunch.

Magness Creek Yearbook Day

Our Magness Creek yearbooks will be delivered to students on Wednesday, May 18th. We do have a limited number of yearbooks that will be sold for $25. We will begin selling them on Monday, May 16th. They will be sold on a first come, first served basis. When the books are delivered to students on the 18th, we will have some pens for students to purchase to get their friends to autograph their yearbooks. Students who do not have a yearbook will be given an autograph sheet so they can still participate in getting their friends' autographs.

2:00 Dismissal May 20th

Friday, May 20th is a very special day in Cabot. The Cabot High School will be holding its graduation ceremony at Verizon Arena in North Little Rock at 7:00 p.m. We will dismiss all Cabot schools at 2:00 on that day in order to allow families and friends to have plenty of time to get down to Verizon Arena. There is also a Traveler's baseball game that night, so parking may become difficult the closer it gets to 7:00. Congratulations to all our Cabot High School graduates!

End of the Year Parties

Our End of the Year Parties will be on Monday, May 23rd. Our PTO has graciously rented some bounce houses for the day. Each grade level has been assigned a time to enjoy the bounce houses. In addition to the bounce houses, each class will be having some other activities throughout the day. Your child's teacher will be getting you that information. Thank you PTO!

Magness Creek Ceremonies and Awards Assemblies - 2:00 Dismissal!

Tuesday, May 24th will be a very busy day at Magness Creek. First of all, it is an early dismissal day. We will be dismissing school at 2:00. The activities for the day will be as follows:

8:15 - 8:35 3rd Grade Awards Assembly

8:40 - 9:05 2nd Grade Awards Assembly

9:30 - 10:15 Kindergarten Graduation

11:00 - 11:20 First Grade Awards Assembly

12:30 - 1:30 4th Grade - Middle School Bound Ceremony

2:00 Dismissal

All activities will be in the gym. Parents, relatives, and friends arriving for your child's activity are asked to wait in the main hallway until the previous activity is completed. We want all students to be able to hear their names and awards called. Once one activity is completed, we will open the doors for those families to leave and the next ones to enter. If a student leaves with his/her family, he/she will need to be checked out through the office and it will count as an absence. Thanks for your help.

Last Day of School and 2:00 Dismissal!

Wednesday, May 25th is the last day of school! Students will receive their final Report Card for the year on that day. If you child has lost a library book or owes money to the cafeteria, the Report Card will be held until payment is made. The cafeteria and library staff are already sending notices home, but if you are not sure if your child owes money or not, please give them a call at 743-3565. We are not able to give Report Cards early, so if your child is not at school on the 25th, you may come by during the summer to pick it up.

Summer Office Hours

From May 26th - June 3rd, the school office will be open from 7:30 - 4:30. Beginning June 6th, the school office hours will be 8:00 - 4:00 Monday through Thursday, and 8:00 - 12:00 on Fridays. At that time, I am the only one on contract, so If you need to come to the school office, you may want to email or call first. There will be several days that I will be out for professional development training in addition to vacation days. I hope everyone has a wonderful, safe summer!
