With Gratitude and Appreciation
I know you all must be enjoying the break from the mad rush of the last two weeks of school! Celebrate and relax!
By now, I'm sure that many of you have heard the news that I am leaving the district. I truly had hoped that we would have had the opportunity to have that one last meeting so that I could have told you in person. Please accept my apologies if you heard this news before today. I was not told when the job posted and so did not know, at first, that it was "out there."
So, now, please let me share what is happening...
I have had a family situation that has made it possible for me to retire early. Yes, retire. It's just a little early - I have 27 years in the education field. I took my decision very seriously; in fact, took the whole month of May to consider it. In the end, I decided that I am ready; ready to explore new adventures! Now that the decision has been made, I'm beginning to get excited about the possibilities that lie ahead.
It is bittersweet, however, because I have had a great year with my wonderful CTAE and Social Studies teachers! As you all know, CTAE is near and dear to me, and I will miss working with you all very much!! For those of you who are going to GACTE, I will be going as well, so we will have the chance to spend some time together. For all of you, may I suggest that perhaps, around the middle to end of June that we plan a get together? I would love it!! Maybe gather at a local restaurant?
I will be working at the BOE until June 18th. After that, however, I have promised Dr. Tavernier that I would make myself available to the new CTAE supervisor so that I can acquaint him/her with what we've been doing and what our plans are for our programs. So, you may see me from time to time!
Please know that I feel very blessed to have gotten to know and work with all of you! It has been a honor and a privilege to work with each of you in your programs and to get to know you personally. To that end, please do stay in touch! My personal email address is: kimberleywarrick@hotmail.com; and my cell number is 762-822-0083. I will probably be moving to the mountains (perhaps the Rabun County area), but I would love to hear from you if you feel so inclined! Email, call, or text anytime!!
And so, I will not say, "goodbye;" rather I will say, "See you next time." And again, please know that I will think of you often and hope to stay in touch!
With much love and warm wishes,
Kim
