Breaking News About Lunch At Bethany

All students will each lunch outside. Each classroom will have its own designated area. We are working on getting mats for each child to have an individual place to sit. Until we have the mats ready, please send in a towel for your child to sit on each day.

We will be creating the mats over the next few weeks. We will be supplying all of the materials, and are looking for volunteers who would be willing to assemble them at home. If you are interested in helping, please email

For more information please attend the Presentation Q & A tonight from 4-5:00.

Important Information for Kindergarten Families

Family Connect

School for students in grades 1-5 will start this year on September 8th.

Families of students in kindergarten will begin with a family connection meeting on either September 8th or September 9th. Please sign up for a time to come and meet the teachers, see the classrooms, have your child, participate in a few fun activities, and meet a few other students. This family connection time will help your child transition into starting school. This is a special time for your kindergarten child. Please try to make other plans for younger siblings.

Starting Date for Kindergarten

We have divided up our Kindergarten classes for the first day of school. This plan allows children to have smaller groups of students together and more individual attention to learn routines and get to know each other.

On Friday, September 10th, students with the last names beginning with A-M will go to school (while students with last names beginning with N-Z stay home).

On Monday, September 13th, the students with last names that start with N-Z go to school and A-M stay home.

On Tuesday, September 14th, ALL Kindergarten students will come to school.

Help Us Purchase School Supplies

We have been busy over the last few weeks purchasing the school supplies that the teachers have requested for your students.

Rather than every family having to do their own shopping, we have found it is easier to collect money for supplies. It has worked very well over the last few years, as families have paid $30.00 per student and then teachers buy the supplies for their class.

This system has several benefits:

  • All students in a class have the same supplies
  • Supplies purchased in bulk are less expensive
  • Teachers only buy what they need (prevents stockpiles or waste)
  • Flexibility to purchase more enriching and creative materials for projects

Thank you to those families who have already purchased their supplies online. If you have not yet paid, you can click on the online payment system below. You can also bring cash or a check to the school office.

Online Payment System
Here are the instructions to follow, once you are in the system:

  • Click on your student’s name
  • Click on school Items
  • Click on the correct grade
  • Click on school supplies

We understand that some families are not able to afford the cost of supplies. Some families may be in the position to make an extra donation towards helping others. All children will receive the same supplies, regardless if they are able to contribute towards the cost. If you would like to help by giving an extra donation, please click on the “Donations” tab that appears on your child’s grade level page. Thank you!

Bethany Calendars

We have been working on putting together a calendar of school events. Due to COVID mandates, please assume that all evening events are virtual until further notice.

Please click on the green buttons below for the links.

Playful Inquiry and Exploration Campaign

The Bethany Kindergarten teachers want to create classrooms with spaces where students can take risks and make messes. We would like to create a “yes” environment, where students can learn that mistakes are an opportunity to try again. These spaces will be student centered, where the teacher becomes the facilitator, provides guidance and partners with children in their learning through play.

We encourage you to send this campaign out to your family and friends. The BEF New Project Match will match your contribution to this project dollar-for-dollar, up to $500.
