LSA College Bound Newsletter
October 2020
Class of 2021
October is a busy month for seniors and their families. It is critical that students prepare their college applications, including The Common Application and the Coalition to finalize their college search.
- All seniors are excused from school on October 14, 2020 as our underclassmen will be taking the PSATs. This is a day for all seniors to attend a virtual college visit/campus tour, or information session.
- Each student (and parent, if requested) can schedule a college planning meeting with their college counselor to go over their application list.
- Students must review the College Guide/Checklist and decide whether to apply Early Action, Early Decision, Regular Decision or Rolling Admission and submit a Transcript Request Form ONE month prior to an application deadline.
- Fee waivers are used to help cut down the cost of application fees. If a student qualified for a College Board waiver, they may be eligible for fee waivers to apply to colleges.
SAVE THE DATE 10/15 @ 6:00 P.M.
Virtual College Financial Aid Workshop/Presentation hosted by Stacy Crooks, Director of the College Planning Center of Rhode Island. Learn what steps you should be taking to prepare for paying for college and get information on eligibility, types of aid, sources of aid and more.
